Monaco 1982
Riccardo Patrese took his first win at the 1982 Monaco Grand Prix with Brabham — a race in which the leaders retired one after another in the closing laps, while he spun, managed to get his engine going again and still finished first.
256 starts
Patrese spent seventeen seasons in Formula 1, from 1977 to 1993, and was the first driver in history to reach two hundred starts, and then two hundred and fifty. In 1992 he was runner-up in the World Championship with Williams, behind his team-mate Nigel Mansell. His record of 256 starts stood until 2008, when Rubens Barrichello broke it.
