Where the data comes from
Championship history since 1950 comes from f1db, an open results database (CC BY 4.0): races, qualifying, points, circuits and their layouts.
Rules come from the official FIA regulations; every article lists the documents we read at the end.
Calculations that the sources don't give – for example, how often the pole sitter wins – we make ourselves from that database and label them as such.
How we check
Every article shows the date its facts were last checked. Numbers, dates, names and rules are checked against primary sources before publication, and the sources are listed at the end of the article.
Numbers that change during the season – records, standings, team line-ups – are not written into the text: tables and charts from our database show them and update on their own.
Our own words
We don't reprint or translate other people's articles or news: we take facts from sources and write the text ourselves.
We don't use team logos, driver photos or liveries – all the graphics on the site are our own.
