Terms of use

What we promise, what we ask of you and what happens if the rules are broken – in plain English, no small print.

In short

These terms cover Gridlap: the @gridlap_bot bot, its Telegram Mini App and the gridlap.club website. By using Gridlap, you agree to them.

  • Gridlap is an unofficial fan project: free, and with no guarantees.
  • Other people see your name, @username, league names and reviews – so no swearing, insults, ads or other people’s personal details.
  • We hide or rename anything that breaks the rules, and ban people for serious or repeated breaches.
  • You can report someone unpleasant and block them.
  • You can ask support to delete your account and all your data at any time; we do it within 30 days (see Privacy).

An unofficial project

Gridlap is made by fans, for fans. We are not connected in any way with Formula 1, the FIA, the teams or the drivers. The schedule, results and history are facts from open sources, and we write our own texts.

Legal notice: This project is unofficial and is not associated in any way with the Formula 1 companies. F1, FORMULA ONE, FORMULA 1, FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, GRAND PRIX and related marks are trade marks of Formula One Licensing B.V.

Free, with no guarantees

  • Gridlap is free. You can support the project with Telegram Stars, but a donation gets you nothing in return: no features, no badges, no early access.
  • We work hard to keep the schedule and results accurate and the games running, but we can’t promise that: sources make mistakes, servers go down and sessions get moved. If something important depends on a start time, check the official schedule.
  • We may change, add and remove features, games and scoring rules.
  • Points, levels, Laps, streaks and leaderboard positions are part of the game: they have no money value and can’t be sold or exchanged for money.

House rules

Other people see your name, @username and avatar – on game leaderboards, in leagues and in bingo – as well as league names and your race reviews. So none of these may contain:

  • swearing or insults – including ones disguised with asterisks, digits or look-alike letters;
  • harassment, threats or hate speech of any kind;
  • ads, links or spam;
  • other people’s personal details: phone numbers, addresses, or names of people who haven’t agreed to it;
  • pretending to be someone else, Gridlap, its support or its moderators.

Fair play

Play yourself: don’t use programs to find answers, don’t boost your points with a second account, and don’t interfere with Gridlap – no attempts to break or overload the server. One person, one account.

Moderation

  • Names, usernames, league names and reviews go through a filter: text with swearing simply won’t be saved.
  • Everything else is reviewed by Gridlap’s owner, both when someone reports it and on their own. The owner can hide a review, change a name or reset a @username (you then can’t set your own name and username for 30 days), and ban people for serious or repeated breaches. A banned person’s race ratings and votes stop counting.
  • The person who creates a league is responsible for its name.
  • If you think we got it wrong, write to support and we’ll look into it. If your access is blocked, the ‘Report a problem’ form is right on the ‘Access blocked’ screen.

Report and block

  • Tap a person’s name on a game leaderboard, in a league, in bingo or on a review – their card opens with ‘Report’ and ‘Block’ buttons. You can report a review itself with the button under it.
  • Only Gridlap’s owner sees reports: the person won’t find out who reported them.
  • You and the person you blocked stop seeing each other on leaderboards, in leagues and in reviews. Points and positions don’t change – a block only hides the rows.
  • You can unblock someone in your account on the website or in the Mini App settings.

Your account and deleting it

Your Gridlap account is your Telegram account – there’s no separate password. You choose your name, @username and avatar yourself. You can change your avatar whenever you like, and your name and username too – except for 30 days after moderation has changed them (see ‘Moderation’).

You can ask us to delete your account and all your data at any time: open the @gridlap_bot Mini App – ‘Account → Report a problem’, topic ‘Data’ (if your access is blocked, the same form is on the ‘Access blocked’ screen). We do it within 30 days; what we keep and how we delete it is on the Privacy page.

If the terms change

A new version means a new date at the top of the page. We’ll announce important changes in advance in the @gridlap channel, and you can accept the new version in your Mini App profile or in your account on the website.

How to reach us

Write to support in the @gridlap_bot Mini App – ‘Account → Report a problem’. You’ll get the reply from the bot.
