Biography
Brabham
Nelson Piquet was World Champion twice with Brabham — in 1981 and 1983. His second title was the first ever won with a turbo engine — in a BMW-powered car.
Williams and a third title
In 1986 Piquet moved to Williams, and in 1987 he won his third title in a fight with his team-mate Nigel Mansell. He went on to drive for Lotus and Benetton; in 203 starts he took 23 wins and 24 poles.
