Biography
Hesketh
James Hunt came into Formula 1 with Lord Hesketh’s private team and in 1975 gave it its only win — at the Dutch Grand Prix.
The 1976 title
In 1976 Hunt moved to McLaren and, in a battle with Niki Lauda, won the championship by a single point. The title was decided at the final race, the rain-soaked Japanese Grand Prix at Fuji: Lauda retired from the race of his own accord, while Hunt finished third. He raced until 1979, making 92 starts and taking 10 wins in his career. Later Hunt commentated on races for the BBC. He died on 15 June 1993.
