Biography
A privateer’s win
Swiss driver Jo Siffert took his first win at the 1968 British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch, at the wheel of Rob Walker’s private Lotus. In 1971, with BRM, he won the Austrian Grand Prix from pole, leading from start to finish and setting the fastest lap.

Siffert was also one of the best in sports car racing, where he drove for Porsche. On 24 October 1971 he was killed at Brands Hatch in a non-championship Formula 1 race.
