Force India F1 Team
Indian businessman Vijay Mallya bought the Spyker team — formerly Jordan — and from 2008 it raced as Force India. Its first points and first podium came on the same day: at Spa in 2009 Giancarlo Fisichella started from pole and finished second behind Kimi Räikkönen.
In 2016 and 2017 Force India finished fourth in the Constructors’ Championship, the best result in its history; Sergio Pérez stood on the podium five times for the team. In the summer of 2018 its debts put the team into administration; it was bought by Lawrence Stroll’s consortium and was called Racing Point from 2019 and Aston Martin from 2021.
