Jordan Grand Prix
Irishman Eddie Jordan brought his team into Formula 1 in 1991, and in that very first season Michael Schumacher made his debut for it, at the Belgian Grand Prix, before moving straight on to Benetton. Rubens Barrichello took Jordan’s first pole at Spa in 1994.
Jordan’s first win came at Spa in 1998, and it was a one-two: Damon Hill finished first and Ralf Schumacher second. In 1999 Heinz-Harald Frentzen won the French and Italian Grands Prix, and the team finished third in the Constructors’ Championship — the best in its history. Giancarlo Fisichella brought the last win, in Brazil in 2003: the race was stopped after a series of crashes, and the winner was only decided several days later. In 2006 the team became Midland — the start of the lineage that led to today’s Aston Martin.
