Circuit of the past · Heusden-Zolder
The circuit at Zolder, in north-east Belgium, hosted the Belgian Grand Prix in 1973, from 1975 to 1982 and in 1984, while the old Spa was considered too dangerous. Jackie Stewart won the first race, and in 1977 Gunnar Nilsson took the only win of his career here, in the rain.
On 8 May 1982 Gilles Villeneuve was killed here in qualifying. Niki Lauda won at Zolder twice, in 1975 and 1976, and the last Grand Prix here, in 1984, was won by Michele Alboreto — the first of his wins for Ferrari.
