Scuderia Toro Rosso
Red Bull bought Minardi in 2005 and turned it into a second team for the young drivers of its programme: Toro Rosso is Italian for “Red Bull”, and the base stayed in Faenza. In 2008 Sebastian Vettel won the wet Italian Grand Prix from pole for Toro Rosso — he was 21, and at the time that made him the youngest Grand Prix winner.
Toro Rosso’s graduates include Daniel Ricciardo, Max Verstappen, who made his debut at 17, Carlos Sainz, Daniil Kvyat and Pierre Gasly. The team scored two more podiums in 2019: Kvyat was third in Germany and Gasly second in Brazil. Since 2020 the team has been called AlphaTauri, then RB and now Racing Bulls.
