Biography
The first Pole
Robert Kubica was the first Pole in Formula 1. He made his debut in 2006 with BMW Sauber, survived a heavy crash in Montreal in 2007 and won at the same circuit a year later — the only win for both Kubica and the team. In 2008 he stayed in the title fight for a long time and finished fourth.
The comeback
In early 2011, having already signed with Renault for the new season, Kubica badly injured his arm in a rally crash and was out of racing for a long time. In 2019 he returned to Formula 1 with Williams, and in 2021 he raced twice more for Alfa Romeo.
