Biography
Williams and Mercedes
Nico Rosberg is the son of 1982 World Champion Keke Rosberg. He made his debut in 2006 with Williams and set the fastest lap in his very first race, and he took his first win at the 2012 Chinese Grand Prix, by then with Mercedes.
Title, then retirement
In 2014 and 2015 Rosberg lost out on the title to his team-mate Lewis Hamilton, and in 2016 he became World Champion — then announced his retirement from racing five days later. The Rosbergs are the second father-and-son pair of World Champions, after the Hills.
