Circuit of the past · Sochi
The Sochi Autodrom was laid out around the venues of the 2014 Winter Olympics in the Imereti Lowland, and in October of that same year it hosted the first Russian Grand Prix in World Championship history. All eight races at the track were won by Mercedes drivers: Lewis Hamilton five times, Valtteri Bottas twice and Nico Rosberg once.
In 2021 Lando Norris started from pole and was leading when rain began to fall a few laps from the end; Norris stayed out on slicks and dropped back, and Lewis Hamilton took the hundredth win of his career. It turned out to be the last race: in 2022 Formula 1 terminated its contract for the Russian Grand Prix.
